Five Tiny Things That Feel Like Pixie Dust
Not all magic comes with fireworks, or parades, or sparks of imagination. Sometimes it shows up in ordinary moments that almost slip by if we're not paying attention.
I think that's one of the sweetest gifts God gives us. Tiny reminders that joy doesn't always come in the big milestones. Sometimes it arrives in the quiet, the unexpected, and the beautifully ordinary.
These are the moments that feel like pixie dust to me lately...
☕ The quiet hours before our girls wake up
There is something sacred about the stillness before the house comes alive.
It's just my husband and me, sipping coffee, talking about life, dreaming about the future, or simply enjoying the silence together. Before the responsibilities of the day begin, we're reminded that we're not just parents … we're best friends.
Sometimes they don’t take place in the wee hours of the morning. Sometimes it’s in the quick trip to the grocery store just the two of us. Or in the moments we send the kids into the house and we sit in the car for just a few more minutes just to talk.
Those conversations have become some of my favorite moments of the day.
💦 Running through a sprinkler at just the right moment
If you've ever gone for a summer run, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
You're hot. Your legs are tired. You're questioning every life decision that brought you outside...
And then *BAM* perfect timing.
A sprinkler sends cool water across the sidewalk just as you pass.
For a split second you feel like a kid again. You laugh, cool off, and somehow find the energy to keep going.
It's a tiny gift that makes an ordinary run unforgettable.
❤️ Being able to help someone who needs it
There is a joy that comes from realizing God has allowed you to be the answer to someone's prayer.
Whether it's offering encouragement, buying a meal, praying with someone, or simply showing up when they're hurting, serving others has a way of filling your own heart too.
I've learned that generosity isn't just about what we give, it's about the privilege of being part of God's work in someone else's story.
That always feels like a little sprinkle of heaven.
🏊 Watching my husband and daughters laugh together in the pool
There are moments when I intentionally stop what I'm doing just to watch.
The splashing. The belly laughs. The silly games. The memories being made.
No phones.No rushing.No agenda.
Just my favorite people enjoying each other.
I know these days won't last forever, which somehow makes them even sweeter.
Sometimes I don't even join in right away because I don't want to miss seeing it from the outside. It's one of those snapshots I tuck away in my heart.
🌅 A fresh cup of coffee on the porch before sunrise
There is just something about those early morning hours.
The world is quiet. The air feels different. The birds begin to wake. The sky slowly changes colors.
Coffee in hand, Bible nearby, I can almost hear God whisper, "Good morning."
It's one of the few times each day when life slows down enough for my heart to catch up with my schedule.
Those mornings remind me that God's mercies really are new every single day.
Maybe pixie dust isn't about fairy tales after all.
Maybe it's the everyday moments that remind us life is beautiful.
The laughter we didn't expect. The cool breeze on a hot day.The hug that came at just the right time. The text from a friend. The sunrise. The answered prayer. The quiet cup of coffee.
These little moments may seem ordinary, but I think they're gifts from a God who delights in surprising His children with joy.
So today, slow down.
Look for the little things.
You just might discover that you've been surrounded by pixie dust all along.
