Sundays in our house used to feel like the last lap of a long race. Then we started Mickey Waffle Sundays — and the morning slowed down.
The recipe (sort of)
You need batter, a silly‑shaped pan, fresh berries, and exactly zero ambition. The kids set the table with whatever napkins they like. Someone always wears pajamas to lunch.
Why it works
- It costs almost nothing.
- It anchors the week in joy.
- It teaches the kids that the table is a place of welcome.
A little bit of magic, made at home, in a kitchen that still has yesterday's dishes in the sink. That counts.
XOXO Whitney
